For a Final Project we had to design 4 looks form a myth or story of our choosing. I selected The Snow Queen by Hans Chris Anderson. I designed the two children , the snow queen and the troll who is featured in the prolouge.

All the renderings were done in gouache on 11X17

The Snow Queen: This concept was based on Danish royalty from 1850, when the story was written. Specifically " " who was a notable queen around the time of this era. The neckline, hair style, bodice and skirt draw on this inspiration the most. She is draped in a silk scarf reminiscent of the northern lights (a prominent feature near Sweden where the play was written).
